Séa Byrne – Artist Bio

Séa Byrne is a dynamic singer, songwriter, and musician from Dublin, Ireland, now based in Guadalajara, México. His music blends indie rock, alt-pop, soul, and Latin-influenced storytelling, drawing from a wide range of influences including My Bloody Valentine, Sufjan Stevens, and Bomba Estéreo.

Musical Journey and Evolution

Séa’s musical journey began at age 8 when he started singing and later studied voice at the Leinster School of Music in Dublin. After years of writing and playing guitar, Séa shifted to a career in design, while keeping music as a personal pursuit. In 2019, while studying Spanish in Cartagena, Colombia, Séa was immersed in Colombian music and culture. It was during this time that Séa reached out to local producer IFO, and together they professionally recorded That’s Why I Love You — the first track in Séa’s exploration of Latin influences. This collaboration marked the beginning of his journey into Latin rhythms and sounds, which would soon become integral to his evolving musical style. As Séa developed his sound, he collaborated with several talented producers. He worked remotely with Charles Connolly (UK) and Thomas Juth (Sweden), who helped with the mixing and mastering of several tracks, further refining Séa’s music into a smooth blend of indie, pop, soul, and tropical influences.

In 2022, Séa moved to Puerto Vallarta, where he met Carlos “Charlie” Santana, a producer who played a pivotal role in refining his debut album Blue Skies. Over the course of a year, Charlie helped remix and remaster the album’s tracks, culminating in a cohesive collection of 14 songs and vignettes. Released in December 2024, Blue Skies is an uplifting fusion of Irish storytelling and Latin rhythms, exploring themes of love, hope, and personal growth.

In 2025, Séa entered a bold new phase. Moving beyond the soulful, tropical tones of Blue Skies, he released Liberation — a goth, industrial, and alt-rock-infused anthem that reached #1 on the AltQ Top 20. The new sound was shaped by working with co-producer Daniel Aceves in Guadalajara, while continuing his collaboration with Charlie Santana in Puerto Vallarta. Together they delivered Catching Up, a charged protest-pop track addressing the climate crisis and social apathy; What You Lost, a sardonic alt-pop declaration of reclamation that also reached #1 on the AltQ Top 20; and Eternity, a soaring alt-pop love ballad that turned inward after the protest trilogy.

In 2026, Séa moved further into alt-rock territory. Clayface (February 2026) is an explosive, freeform anthem about pushing through despair. Hope In Your Heart (May 2026) is a three-act indie rock anthem inspired by Palestinian musician Ahmed Abu Amsha, with all Bandcamp proceeds going to Save the Children. A second album, building on this darker, more urgent sound, is on the horizon.

His move from Puerto Vallarta to Guadalajara marked a creative shift — recalling the urban energy and alternative, edgy spirit of the Dublin music scene he grew up with — and his recent work reflects that transition.
