FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: GUADALAJARA, MÉXICO — 30 OCTOBER 2026
The horses are here. On the eve of Halloween, in the Year of the Fire Horse, Séa Byrne unleashes Horses, a minor-key stampede and the new single from his second album, Scorched Earth, out in January.
The timing is no accident. The Fire Horse comes round once every sixty years, a sign of courage, freedom and momentum, and of a time when hidden things rise to the surface. His horses carry all of it. Sinister forces are at work, night closes in, the air thickens and the heat climbs. The horses ride out to meet them.
Producer Daniel Aceves keeps the drums charging and the guitars snarling, clearing space for Byrne to lead the hook like a terrace chant. Feed the horse, over and over, building with each bar, until the horse breaks free and the flames take hold. By the final stretch the song has moved from warning to summons, a call to stand against injustice and find the nerve the year demands.
““They’re burning the fire. Smoke on the horizon. Galloping horses, the temperature’s rising.”
– Horses, Séa Byrne, 2026
Horses follows Be Free, which entered the AltQ Radio Top 20 this month. Carlos “Charlie” Santana mixed and mastered the track in Puerto Vallarta.
